St John’s has had a branch of the MU since 1921. Some of the photos above show them taking part in a Victorian night to raise money for a new piano in the 50s, and taking part in the village gala in the 70s.
The Mothers’ Union (MU) works to promote community and raise money to support women and family life in the UK and across the world.
The MU raises funds for the support of soup kitchens, ‘Away From it All Holidays’ for those in need, and relief for flood and famine victims both here and abroad. They also promote work in premature baby units.
