Our
vision
Together with God to build a church for tomorrow’s
challenges and today’s needs. As part of this vision,
to support the wider church.
| |
Why?
Our church family is growing in many ways. We
are committed to further growth, At the Church we need
more space and improved facilities to accommodate
this. [please see the Artist’s impression of the
Church and extension, below left.] |
How
will we achieve this?
We will build an extension behind
the church to provide: [please see below, Left, an Artist’s
impression of the church and extension, space for our
Junior Church groups to meet as part of the church family
coming together for worship
- a space
for informal worship at church
- more
space for robing and preparation
- enhanced
toilet and kitchen facilities
- Overflow
space for specail services
We
will renovate the Church Hall to provide: [ please see
below, Right, the proposed Extension and Improvements.]
- a meeting
room with separate facilities (to allow two events
to take place at once)
- improved
disabled access
- better
toilet and kitchen facilities
As
a result of these changes, St. John’s will be
more available to all, young and old, able bodied or
disabled. |

Supporting
Others through the Parish
Building Appeal.
“Truly
I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least
of these who are members of my family, you did it
to me.” |
These
words are taken from Jesus’ parable of the sheep
and the goats in which Jesus points us to the importance
of caring for those who are destitute and in great
need.
In
some parts of the world such need is on a different
scale. In cities in India, poverty can devastate
people’s lives. The Delhi Brotherhood
works with the physically disabled, young boys who
are orphans, girls whose lives are affected by HIV
and AIDS young adults with
little or no skill, abused children and women.
We
were fortunate to welcome Father Monodeep Daniel to
our parish earlier in the year when he spoke movingly
of the work of the Delhi Brotherhood at our Christian
Aid service.
As
we consider our need for more space and improved facilities
we need to remember that there are those in the world
who have no buildings to modify.
We
pledge to give ten percent of the appeal target to
the Delhi Brotherhood as it works to improve the lives
and life chances of some of the most vulnerable people
in the world.
